Ashleigh: How long have you been a fashion designer?
Ladies and gentlemen, there is a new movement unfolding in the world of fashion, one defined by artistic abstractness, chic inspiration, cutting edge intricacy and color and design vibrancy. The leader of this movement is the one and only, Marc Clark, also known as Marc C. A new face on the fashion scene, Maryland native Marc C. introduces his own perspective of style, his designs reflective of the expression "less is more." Marc C. signature Swavorski crystal bow-tie brooch represents this motto; it's a simple, elegant unisex accessory which can be pinned anywhere to instantaneously accentuate any and every ensemble. He also boasts varied clothing designs that cater to the "beau monde" crowd, as well as the real urban shakers of the USA. I have had the chance to interview fashion designer, Marc C. Ashleigh: How long have you been a fashion designer?
Marc C: I have been a fashion designer for five years, but fashion has been a part of my life
for as long as I can remember.
Ashleigh: What ignited your passion for fashion?
Marc C: I have always been a very creative individual, but I was enticed by a career in fashion
after my stint as a fashion merchandiser for a chain retailer in the Maryland
Metropolitan area.

Ashleigh: Your signature Swarovski crystal bowtie brooches are unique complements to any and
every outfit, what inspired that creation?
Marc C: “It was all a dream!” lol It was actually inspired by a very vivid dream I had where
recoding artist lady Gaga was wearing a bowtie that I created. I always was a big fan
of bowties, but never before designed one. I thought it a very novel and classic fashion
piece so I took some canvas and designed my first prototype bowtie, I played with the
design for quite a while until I perfected it, and turned it into what you see today.

Marc C: Marc C. is sophistication, its self-expression, it’s a deviation from the norm, much like
myself and the people who wear [Marc C.] I am not your average 23 year old, and my
my brand Marc C. is not your standard clothing line.

Marc C: Marc C. is a young clothing line, which is only 4 months old, launching in April of 2009.
We are rapidly expanding, with our bowties, t-shirts, store placements, and so much
more. I have many celebrity and non-celebrity friends who will be wearing my line, so
just watch out, you just may see Marc C. on TV, a blog, or at a store near you.

Ashleigh: For the youth who aspire to be fashion designers, what Fashion 101 advice can you give
them?
Marc C: Follow your dreams literally, think outside the box, don’t let discouragement
dissuade you from achieving your goals, you could be surprised where one dream
can take you.
Ashleigh: Who does the Marc C. brand team consist of?
Marc C: My mom aka my “mom-ager,” Camille. Jene who is my assistant, my design intern
Patricia, my publicist Justin Holmes, and Darryl Glover, who styles photo shoots for
the company. Without the support from these individuals, Marc C. would not be in the
position that it is in today!
