Secret Shoperias Nestled in NYC: Reveal #1

Posted by Ashleigh Fitzwilliam, CEO and Founder on Sunday, September 13, 2009 , under , , , |

My lovelies...
As promised, I am divulging one spot in NYC, adorned with high-end designer clothing and accessories. Check out El Mundo, located on Valentine avenue in the Fordham Road section of the Boogie Down, Bronx. I was doing my normal run of "antiquing" in the historical Bronx, and decided to get some varnish for the newly bought 1910 French headboard I scored...Of course, I was in the area and saw this giant store which resembled the classic "99 Cents" joint- (Urban dwellers should know what I'm talking about *smiles*). In my head "this store should have the varnish," so I walk in, and am I taken by surprise? Yes indeed. A whole swarm of people diving in big brown boxes- what in the world could these folks be looking for? Well what do you know, a cute Spanish lady throws a Kate Spade purse up in the air "Tu quieres mami"..."Of course I want this." (SMILING) Took it to the cashier along with my varnish...grand total- $4.25!
A joke? I kid you not. Kate Spade cow-hide clutch for less than my table shine...wow $1.25.
I had to look in the box for myself and to my surprise, Juicy Couture Boxes, 10 of them to be exact!

Well, that's all for now. You may doubt this, but my resources are credible. Check out this NYC nestled shoperia, and best believe, it will not be your last visit.

Until next time ....stay positive

So, the whole premise behind this posting resides on a lovely Sunday afternoon voyage through the five boroughs of NY- I was bored, give me a break (smiling.) I like to get the essence of "NYC Urban"- graffiti, bodegas galore and of course the public housing. But I was totally unaware of the secret gems speckled throughout. The following 411 is for my beautiful people whose budget for two outfits does not exceed 300 bucks. Yes..TWO OUTFITS! Shall I say Salvatore Ferrogamo leather for $35? How about some Tory Burch stiletts for $15? Charles David hobo bags under $100???!!!??? For all you monogram fanatics...Gucci loafers for 50- one dollar bills??? Louis V...$10. I kid you not! And guess what is lined up outside the front doors of these stores?!?! Trucks loaded with Bloomingdale's, Macey's and Marshall Fields' shipments! Honestly, I could not believe my eyes and had to share this hot news with you. Yes, no knockoffs here buddy. (lol) My mission is to bless the common people with the beau monde touch and I am determined to accomplish this....stay tuned ladies and gents..stay tuned.

Ginger, Spice and Everything Nice: The In Thang

Posted by Ashleigh Fitzwilliam, CEO and Founder on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 , under | comments (0)

Gals it seems like achieveing the latest "chic" hairstyle resides with a razor and a dusting brush. Stylists went crazy when beautiful Basian singer Rihanna made a slam dunk comeback on her third album "Good Girl Gone Bad," rocking an edgy, all black haircut-short in nape, long in the chin...Then, of course other celebrities followed similar looks, namely Star Jones- who has always been known for the extra hair- and Jennifer Hudson.

In any event, we've ventured from the short Mary Jane cute haircut, to BALD when Solange cut off all her locks and felt the crisp summer air on her scalp for the very first time. It's free, easy and...bare. She's drop dead gorgeous with or without hair. This may be the resurrection of India Arie back in the early 2000s, when she sported the bald look as well- definition of "I am Not My Hair?" ...what do you think girls? Is this the new look for you? Maybe we can all embrace our natural beauty, not masked by long weaves and extensions...fly like [bald] eagles like Lenny Kravitz so glamourously sang back in the day.

Ginger, Spice and Everything Nice: Aluminum Foil and Bazooka Gum Wrappers?

Posted by Ashleigh Fitzwilliam, CEO and Founder on Monday, August 3, 2009 , under | comments (0)

Precious ladies...have you seen the current wave of cosmetic fashion, heavily sported by some of the world's hottest celebrity felines (Solange, Lilly Alen, and Eve, to name a few?) This new trend lies right at your fingertips...literally. Introducing the "Minx" nail... Paparazzi have captured numerous "creme de la creme" gals on camera, rocking what appears to be aluminum foil and Bazooka Bubblegum cartoon wrappers on their nails. I had to do my research, and give you the insider on this unique, out of this world improvement in nail fashion.

You may be asking, what the Minx nail is all about. Well for one, the Minx material consists of a pliable polymer, closely resembling a sticker in the shape of an oval. It is so reminiscent of young girls applying scotch tape to their cuticles to mimic fake nails. Who would've thought this simple concept would take over the world of style? In any case, the traditional "Minx" look, as seen on the beautiful Beyonce Knowles, resides in the metallic hues- gold, silver, diamond spectrum, etc. However, Solange and Eve have been spotted with patriotic Minx designs including the face of Barack Obama, the Democratic "Donkey," and texture colors (plaids, stripes, polka dots etc.)

Minx nails on average range from $40 to $100 dollars at local salons, approximate time for application- a mere 15-30 minutes. Note however,it only last up to FOUR DAYS!!! Nevertheless, Minx nails are the fashion icons in nail care. You are getting the trendiest, upscale nail treatment/decor for your buck! Die-hard fashionistas...get your nails pampered with Minx today!
